Blog Giveaway!

As promised, I am having a blog giveaway! The prize is this pretty little fused glass pendant, hanging on a lovely sterling silver Venetian chain. Please excuse the shockingly bad photos, the weather is too horrible for good photography by an amateur, but I can assure you this pendant is beautiful in real life!
This pendant has been fused, then cold worked into shape, then fire polished. It is quite small, only 1.5cm x 1cm, and understated enough for everday wear.
To be in with a chance to win this, please leave a comment on this post. A winner will be chosen at random at 9 pm on Sunday 29th November 2009.
Good luck!

Ooops

Yes, I know, sometimes I am a VERY bad blogger, in my defence I have had lots of things going on, some have made me go "GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!", some have made me utter a disgruntled "meh", others still have had me sobbing into my poor abused pillow, and there have even been some that made me go "woop!!". Anyway, in a nutshell, found a house to buy, it all fell through at the 11th hour, have now found a new house, so fingers crossed for this one because we LOVE it. Also had my mum in hospital for, hmmm, about 3 months, maybe? lost count, so am going up there a lot. AND (the excuses continue!) I've had 6 fairs since the beginning of November, so I've been quite a busy bee!! But I know, I know, I shouldn't be making excuses (hangs head in shame.)
BUT!!! To make it up to all you lovely people, I am planning my very first blog giveaway within the next few days! (It would have been today but I couldn't find the charger for the camera to take a piccie of what the prize is. Was worrying for a while there that it may have been packed, half the house is, but I've just found it, hurrah!)
So, keep your eyes peeled, I hope the excitement and anticipation doesn't keep you awake, this blog giveaway will be announced by WEDNESDAY at the latest.
See you soon! xxxxx

Items listed on Ebay for Tommy's Fundraiser

The Frit happens people have got together to raise money for Tommy's, a charity that raises money for research into pregnancy, miscarriage and stillbirth. As this is a subject which is unfortunately close to my heart, I have listed a couple of items on ebay with all proceeds going directly to Tommy's.

Great weekend, and big plans afoot!!

I had a fantastic day on Saturday, fellow glasssaholic Kay from Sea Breeze Glass held a glassy gathering for some of the lovely FHF ladies in her beautiful garden studio on the coast. I've never seen so much talent crammed into one shed, well, I say shed, "temple" would be a better description, we now all have serious shed envy!!

Several people demonstrated, a couple that stand out for me were Kay showing us how she makes a hollow bead. I am lucky enough to own one of Kay's hollows, she is an uber talented lady and lovely into the bargain!!

Also Jolene from Kitzbitz showed us how she makes some of her gorgeous, complicated twisties. She made it look so easy, but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to attempt anything like it yet! Or indeed ever!! Which is why it's very lucky that Jo sells them on her website, along with beautiful murrini, and shards, and mojo boxes...........bye bye bank balance!
Back home, I'm finally set up with my new dual fuel torch and Dave the oxycon. I have many plans for Dave, we shall have to see if he's up to the job!! I finally started lampworking again a couple of weeks ago, I first got a Hothead torch in March, but stopped when I found out I was pregnant two weeks later. It's taken me a while since I lost the baby to get the confidence and enthusiasm back to try new things, but now I'm all set up properly, so it's all guns blazing!! Here are a few that I feel are just about ok to be allowed out in public!
Back off out to the garage now to put Dave to work again!
